Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearoa/NZ Childcare Association (NZCA) held a contract with the Ministry of Education in 2009 to deliver in-centre professional development to individual ECE services nationally. There are currently no Ministry funded professional development programmes in place.
Our programmes were:
Te Whāriki
The Te Whāriki programme addresses the professional development needs of individual early childhood services as they relate to Te Whāriki the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
Kei Tua o te Pae Assessment for Learning: Early Childhood Exemplars
The Kei Tua o Te Pae programme introduces and supports centres to use:
- the Kei Tua o Te Pae resource for early childhood services that sits alongside Te Whāriki to provide a socio-cultural approach to assessment as an exciting new catalyst for professional dialogue and debate about children and their learning.
The Kei Tua o te Pae resource is a set of booklets which have been issued to all early childhood services and primary schools.
